Examine Yourselves Index

The Answers to the following Questions can be found in the lessons of Module 11.

Question 1: The Creator has certain Feasts which commemorate His mightiest acts in the “Programme of Salvation.” Scripture tells us that these memorial Feasts are eternal! The Bible also teaches that they constitute the “Sign ( signature ) of the LORD.” What “counterfeit festivals” has the Christian church introduced in their place?
See Lesson 1 for the answer.

Question 2: The Bible teaches that: “The Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.” Who are the lost and what are they saved from?
See Lesson 2 for the answer.

Question 3: The world is obsessed with sex, which it incorrectly mistakes for “love.” When the Bible says: “God is love” what does it mean? What is true love anyway?
See Lesson 3 for the answer.

Question 4: Satan is figuratively described in Scripture as a “fiery serpent.” The whole human race has been stung by Satan and faces eternal death. There is, however, one - and only one - antidote to Satan's sting. What is it and what does it cost?
See Lesson 4 for the answer.

Question 5: A “covenant” is as a formal agreement or contract drawn up under seal between two or more parties. “Jehovah” made the first covenant between Himself and ancient Israel when, in the days of Moses, He brought His people to Mount Sinai and wrote His commandments on tablets of stone. The Bible, in both the Old and New Testaments tells of a “New Covenant” Who are the parties in the “New Covenant” and where are the commandments written in this “New Covenant?”
See Lesson 5 for the answer.

Question 6: “Nothing is impossible with God.” Often the Most High allows us to reach the absolute end of our tether before He steps in and does the impossible. In the final analysis the spiritual battle between good and evil is not ours - it is the LORD's; and He will certainly win it. But what is our part in this great battle?
See Lesson 6 for the answer.

Question 7: In both the Old and New Testaments there are prophecies concerning a “Second Exodus” to the wilderness.
In view of the many “false alarms”that have occurred in the past when thousands of believers have wandered off into the wilds only to be sadly disappointed, what should we expect to happen on earth “before” this “Second Exodus” could take place?
See Lesson 7 for the answer.

Question 8: In times of trouble we should pray to the LORD God of Israel and He will answer our prayers; provided we repent, forsake our sins and return to the pathway of obedience. What are the key requests king Solomon made in his memorable prayer at the dedication of the Temple? And what sign did God give Solomon that He would answer his prayer?
See Lesson 8 for the answer.

Question 9: “Zion,” another name for Jerusalem, is Yahweh's favourite place on earth. “The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.” Alas! Zion is not yet a holy city. Sinners still roam its streets. But one day - soon - that will all change. What events are still to happen in Jerusalem before it can be said: Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: “for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean?”
See Lesson 9 for the answer.

Question 10: The Bible says: “... the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.” Oh how true it is: sin and rebellion bring sorrow of heart and anguish of spirit. The good news is that the Saviour came to “seek and to save that which was lost.” But before that rescue can be accomplished what personal decision must be made? Complete the sentence: “I will arise and go to my Father and say unto Him ........................ Thee.”
See Lesson 10 for the answer.

Question 11: “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.” What does this prophecy mean? Is the man Elijah, or a re-incarnation of Elijah, due to appear on earth. Or is his “message” to go forth; and if so “What is the Elijah Message?”
See Lesson 11 for the answer.

Question 12: Baal worship was accompanied with “sinful sexual acts;” behaviour expressly forbidden in Jehovah's law. The worship of Baal is not a thing of the past. It is still rampant in our society. List some of the sins which we could classify as modern Baal worship.
See Lesson 12 for the answer.
