good servant: because thou hast

The Glorious Gospel Train
Are ye at thy station ready,
For the near approaching train?
Are ye fully contemplating
That a pass thou wilt obtain?
Is there some important matter,
Ye have left behind undone,
That will keep thee hesitating,
Till too late to make the run?
Has thy title been recorded,
That no question can be made?
Does thy preparation warrant,
That ye shall not be delayed?
When ye see the headlight gleamings,
As around the curves they climb,
Have ye any fears and doubtings,
Thou shalt not get in on time?
Are thy garments nicely fitted,
That accepted ye may be,
A royal guest for Jesus’ kingdom,
Trav’ling for eternity?
Dost thou hold the bloodstained banner,
Of Emmanuel in thine hand,
Quickly make thy preparation,
And thy passport have in hand.
’Tis the only signal, brother,
That will make thy passage sure,
That will stop the mighty engine,
And a seat for thee secure;
That will give ye close connection,
And a never failing hand,
That will take thee safely over,
To the glorious kingdom land.
