Text Based On Hebrews Chapter 4
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise
being left us of entering into his rest,
any of you should seem to come short
of it.

Another Six Days’ Work Is Done
Another six days’ work is done
Another Sabbath has begun;
Return, my soul, enjoy thy rest,
Obey the day that God hath blessed.
With joy, great God, Thy works we view,
In various scenes, both old and new;
With praise we think on mercies past,
With hope we future pleasure taste.
Come, bless the Lord, Whose love assigns
So sweet a rest to weary minds;
A blessèd antepast is given,
On this day best of all the seven.
Oh, that our thoughts and thanks may rise
As grateful incense to the skies,
And draw from Christ that sweet repose;
Which none but Him who feels it knows.
This heavenly calm within the breast
Is the best pledge of glorious rest,
Which for the Church of God remains,
The end of cares, the end of pains.
